"Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop is a true Brooklyn classic, and my visit lived up to its reputation for quality. I tried four donuts—strawberry frosted, jelly, apple cider, and honey-glazed—and appreciated that the shop offers both yeasty and cakey styles. The yeast donuts had a pleasant chew and freshness, while the cake donuts were dense, moist, and well-spiced. All were fresh, solid and enjoyable, though not necessarily life changing. The shop itself has a nice neighborhood feel, quick service, and a steady flow of regulars even shortly before closing. Just remember it's cash only. Overall, a reliable stop for traditional donuts with a mix of textures done well. If you can't make it before closing, try Moe's nearby for similar quality and more variety."

"Solid old school donuts. Heard great things about this place from friends who live in Brooklyn. There’s usually a line, so we were a little worried, but we still got our order within five minutes (bring cash). Picked up a half-dozen, including their popular apple fritter. Old-school donuts like these are becoming rare in New York. You just don’t see many places doing this style anymore, at least not the way you still can in New England. Having had plenty of good donuts in Boston, I can’t say these were better, but the apple fritter and the old-fashioned glazed were our favorites. The fritter had a light, spongy bite, and the old-fashioned had that classic crackly exterior. Everything else (French cruller, sprinkled) was just fine. Not sure how many shops like this are left in the city, but it’s worth a stop if you want a break from the overly-trendy donut wave. The apple fritter we got was one of the last two available, so if that’s what you’re aiming for, go before noon."

"Had this place on my list for awhile and it did not disappoint. I was mostly wanted to try the blueberry cake donut and the apple fritter. The blueberry cake was amazing and one of the best I've had. The apple fritter was good, but more of a donut than a fritter, but it did have a decent amount of apple in it. The donuts were very fresh and soft, would highly recommend if you like donuts to try them out. It's a classic donut shop"
